Double Occupancy story (no spoilers)
Rajini lives with a secret: by day Rajini is a woman, and by night Rajini is a man. This gender swap is kept hidden from partners, and the deception creates tangled complications as Rajini tries to manage relationships without revealing the truth. The Tamil film blends romance, drama and fantasy around this double life, with the tension coming from the constant risk of exposure and the emotional mess that follows.
Should you watch Double Occupancy?
Watch it for
- Aswin Kandasamy directs a Tamil romance-drama-fantasy built around a gender-swap premise, with Santhosh Sreeram and Reshma Venkatesh both playing Rajini.
- The cast includes Samyuktha Viswanathan as Priya, Vinoth Kishan as Karthik, VTV Ganesh as Raju Bhai and Bagavathi Perumal as Doctor Rajiv.
- Sam C S composes the music for the 132-minute film, which is certified U/A 16+ in India.
- The story hides Rajini's day-and-night transformation from partners, so the drama comes from secrets and complications rather than action.
Skip it if
- You prefer straightforward romance without a fantasy gender-swap device driving the plot.
- You want a shorter film; this one runs 132 minutes.
- You avoid U/A 16+ titles and want something for younger viewers.

Our verdict
Double Occupancy gives Santhosh Sreeram and Reshma Venkatesh the same character, Rajini, and asks them to carry a story about hiding a day-night gender swap from partners. Aswin Kandasamy directs a 132-minute Tamil romance-drama-fantasy with Sam C S on music, and the U/A 16+ rating signals it is aimed at older teens and adults. If the secret-identity premise appeals, the cast and genre mix are the main draw.
