English Vinglish story (no spoilers)
Shashi Godbole is an Indian housewife with a limited command of English. When she travels to the United States for the first time, she finds herself in Manhattan, where everyday situations become a personal language school. The film follows her as she navigates this new environment, balancing family expectations with her own quiet determination. The tone mixes comedy and drama, focusing on her experiences and the people she meets. It is a family story about communication and self-discovery, told with warmth and humour.

Our verdict
English Vinglish is a gentle, funny look at a housewife finding her voice in New York. Sridevi's performance and Gauri Shinde's writing make it a relatable family film. It is not flashy, but its honesty and humour are its strengths.
