School Friends story (no spoilers)
School Friends is a Hindi slice-of-life comedy-drama created by Alka Shukla. It follows five quirky teenagers—Anirban Gupta, Stuti Sharma, Raman Agrawal, Dimple Chaddha and Mukund Minawala—who have just entered 11th Commerce. Across three seasons, the show tracks their friendships, heartbreaks, peer pressures and the harder task of figuring out who they really want to be, while the adults around them struggle to cope with the fast-changing Gen Z world. The tone is warm and observational, mixing light comedy with the everyday drama of school life. Season 1 premiered on 23 August 2023 with 19 episodes, Season 2 arrived on 25 September 2024 with 20 episodes, and Season 3 premiered on 21 February 2025 with 18 episodes. Episodes typically run about 17 minutes, and the series is certified U/A 16+ in India.
Should you watch School Friends?
Watch it for
- The five leads—Aaditya Gupta, Navika Kotia, Manav Soneji, Alisha Parveen and Ansh Pandey—each appear in all 57 episodes across the three seasons, so the friend group stays consistent.
- At roughly 17 minutes per episode, the comedy-drama fits easily into a short break, and the 57-episode run gives you plenty of school-day stories.
- Creator Alka Shukla and directors Narendra Shrivastav, Sahil and Trishani Paul keep the focus on 11th Commerce classroom dynamics and Gen Z peer pressure rather than adult melodrama.
- Prakash Bhardwaj as Principal Ritam Bhola and Aruna Giri as Geeta Madam add a school-authority counterpoint to the teenagers' lives.
Skip it if
- You want a fast-paced thriller or a plot with high stakes—this is a gentle slice-of-life comedy-drama about school friendships and everyday pressures.
- You prefer long-form episodes; at about 17 minutes each, the show moves in short, sitcom-like beats.
- You are looking for a completed story—the series is still marked as a returning series after three seasons.

Our verdict
School Friends works best as a low-commitment, character-driven look at five 11th Commerce students finding their feet. The 17-minute episodes and the same five leads across all three seasons keep it consistent, though the gentle tone and school setting won't suit viewers chasing suspense. It is a solid pick if you like slice-of-life Hindi comedy-drama.
