Unmadham story (no spoilers)
Unmadham is a Malayalam mystery thriller centred on CPO Shelly K, a police constable haunted by his past. When he reopens an unsolved cold case, hidden secrets begin to surface, and he must confront truths that challenge his beliefs forever. The film sets up a procedural investigation that turns personal, with Shelly's own history pressing against the facts of the case. Alongside him are Soumya, Keerthana, CPO Joshy, C.I Manoj, A.S.I Narayanan Sharma, Sumesh and DySP Alexander George, each tied to the case in ways the story slowly reveals. Directed by Kiran Das and running 141 minutes, the tone is tense and brooding rather than action-driven, built on mystery and the weight of what Shelly has carried. The narrative stays focused on the cold case and its emotional cost, without revealing its resolutions here.
Should you watch Unmadham?
Watch it for
- Kunchacko Boban plays CPO Shelly K, a constable whose haunted past drives the cold-case investigation.
- Director Kiran Das builds a mystery-thriller around an unsolved case rather than a straightforward procedural.
- The supporting cast includes Lijomol Jose as Soumya, Raina Radhakrishnan as Keerthana and Sabumon Abdusamad as DySP Alexander George.
- A 141-minute runtime gives the cold case room to unfold at a deliberate pace.
Skip it if
- You prefer fast-paced action over a slow-burn mystery built on a cold case.
- You want a light, easy watch; the film deals with a haunted past and hidden secrets.
- You are looking for a family entertainer rather than a U/A 13+ thriller.

Our verdict
Unmadham is a grounded Malayalam mystery thriller that leans on Kunchacko Boban's CPO Shelly K and a cold case rather than spectacle. Kiran Das keeps the focus on secrets and personal history across 141 minutes. If you like investigative stories with an emotional edge, this one is worth a look.
