Rowdy Rathore story (no spoilers)

Rowdy Rathore is a 2012 Hindi action comedy crime film directed by Prabhu Deva. The story follows a small-time thug who encounters a young girl claiming he is her father. This leads him to discover he has a lookalike who is being hunted by goons. The film stars Akshay Kumar in a dual role as Shiva and Vikram Singh Rathore, with Sonakshi Sinha as Paro. The narrative blends action, comedy, and crime elements as the protagonist navigates the consequences of this revelation. Set against a backdrop of pursuit and mistaken identity, the film explores how an ordinary thug becomes entangled in a dangerous situation due to his resemblance to someone else. The tone shifts between lighthearted comedic moments and intense action sequences, driven by the conflict with the goons. With a runtime of 143 minutes, the movie offers a mix of masala entertainment, featuring catchy music by Sajid-Wajid and choreography by Prabhu Deva. The tagline 'Faulad ki Aulaad' hints at the film's theme of strength and resilience.

Our verdict

Rowdy Rathore delivers exactly what it promises: a loud, energetic masala film with Akshay Kumar in top form. The dual role and Prabhu Deva's choreography keep it entertaining, though the plot is predictable. It's a fun watch if you enjoy over-the-top action comedies.
